To admins and everyone else: what's the difference?!

I use Pascal and my program got WA on test 1.
I just changed '-' to #196 and so on with other symbols and got AC.
Why? What is the difference?

Char '-' in different codepages is different.
#196='-' in cp866(dos) codepage.
Maybe you use Delphi and cp1251(win) codepage?

I just use TP 7.0, so I think there is no difference.
